This project effectively fulfils the previously mentioned criteria for harmoniously placing a construction within the challenging morphology of the terrain with its steep incline. Camponovo’s quest for a close affinity with the land so that the building fits into the landscape is quite evident here, not least in his use of materials, and in fact, the exposed stone, wood, and concrete succeed in creating the effect sought after by the architect. The villa’s numerous large glass surfaces establish a relationship between the interior and the stunning landscape of the exterior. Given the southern exposure and reflections from the lake, overhanging architectural elements were added to create shaded areas, which also serve to make the interior spaces more functional and pleasant. The building can be reached from below via a covered outdoor path which fits harmoniously into the overall plan.
